Lather
You will learn many different tasks while in training. Lath (sounds like
bath) is the wrapping of the exterior of a building with paper and wire.
This creates the foundation for the plaster to be applied later. The foundation
is critical to providing high quality project that has lasting value.
And as the construction industry has begun to accept new metal stud framing the Lather has also found new opportunities. The Lather/Drywall training will get you a welding certificate and the ability to ready blue prints. How about that, building with metal studs, an industry leading technology.
When finished for a day, you will have the pride of working on a team that has built a new building or retrofitting an existing building. You will also have the peace of mind knowing that your union provides health insurance a pension for later in your life.
