ICC, International Code Council, Fort Worth October 9, 2002 - History
was made at the joint annual conference and business meetings of the three
leading building safety organizations. Meeting in Fort Worth, the members
voted to consolidate services, products and operations of BOCA (Building
Officials and Code Administraters), ICBO (International Conference of
Building Officials) and SBCCI (Southern Building Code Congress International)
into one member service organization - the International Code Council
(ICC).
The new ICC is expected to begin operations in January.
Insurance for EIFS projects

Lath
and Plaster specifications
SPPCA San Jose, February 2002 - The Sacramento Plastering Bureau and the Northern California Lath and plastering Institute are working together reviewing and updating the specification section guide for Portland Cement Plaster Stucco with the Northwest Walls and Ceiling Bureau.
The SBPCA is reviewing the existing document as well. The SBPCA has a committee set to review, and add anything the SBPCA would like to have in the documents. The committee will be submitting their recommendations by February 28, 2002. EIMA
SPBCA San Jose, October 2001 - Hopes of securing a contractor insurance program by the end of the third quarter have been postponed due to the recent terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Negotiations were proceeding with a division of the nations liability underwriters, which were housed in the WTC. The association is looking to start up new negotiations with other carriers.
HUD selects NFPA for home standards
US Department of Housing and Urban Development, 2002 - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development have selected the National Fire Protection Association to administer a voluntary consensus process that will provide recommendations to the secretary of HUD to enhance federal manufacture-home construction and safety standards and its related enforcement regulations.
CSI of Santa Clara Valley
CSI Santa Clara, CA January 2002 - CSI of Santa Clara Valley is having a program this February 7, 2002 on UDS, the Uniform Drawing System, the new system of producing blueprints. The Construction Specifications Institute is a great educational vehicle to increase your knowledge of construction. UDS will help you learn what is coming in the future of blueprints and specifications. The system is better and is being used more and more. The new system UDS helps you understand how the building is being built.
